Education - Campbelltown City Council
Protecting our environment |
| Our health and well being as a community is directly affected by the quality of the environment we live in. |
| What’s more, the environment has a built-in value that’s important for reasons separate from our own well being; that is, that it deserves to be protected for its own sake. |
| For both of these reasons, we have a duty to ensure that the environment is preserved well into the future. |
Education plays a key role |
| Environmental themes like water quality, species diversity (or biodiversity), and climate change are all areas that people have the power to influence, for better or for worse. For this reason, education plays a key role in ensuring that residents of Campbelltown and beyond have the information and understanding that they need to make smart lifestyle choices so that allow our local natural areas and wildlife to thrive, and we can enjoy them for generations to come. |
Environmental Education Strategy |
| In 2010 we formally adopted our first Environmental Education Strategy (PDF, 9MB). We created the strategy to provide a guiding framework for future environmental education projects and programs in the community and in Council’s own operations over the near future. |
