Macarthur is fast becoming renowned as a major sporting region, having played host to a number of national sporting events over the past few years. Campbelltown is also proud to be the home of the 2005 Premiership winning Wests Tigers Rugby League Team.

National sporting events held in Macarthur include the National Telstra A Series, the World Title Boxing Championships, the NSW Netball Championships, Cricket Australia's Women's Cup, the PGA NSW Open Golf Championship, Women's National Soccer League, the State Cross Country Championships and the Australian Polocrosse Nationals.

Macarthur has also developed into a bit of a golfing mecca, being home to a number of acclaimed golf courses. From the moment you set foot on the course the pressures of city life will be far behind you.
