NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN UNTIL 20 NOVEMBER
Do you know a Campbelltown resident who has performed a great service either culturally or in the sporting arena? Then why not nominate them for an Australia Day Award?
The annual Campbelltown City Australia Day Awards recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to their local community or who have achieved exceptional results in sporting or cultural endeavours.
All nominees will be invited to attend a special civic reception, with the winners announced as part of Australia Day celebrations.
The Australia Day Award recipients are selected based on a range of criteria, including the type and quality of service, educational and sporting achievement, and individual acts of excellence, compassion, generosity or bravery.
The award categories for 2010 are:
Citizen of the Year – 28 years and over Young Citizen of the Year – 19 to 27 years Junior Citizen of the Year – up to 18 years Sportsperson of the Year – 28 years and over Young Sportsperson of the Year – 19 to 27 years Junior Sportsperson of the Year – 13 to 18 years Young Junior Sportsperson of the Year – up to 12 years Community Event/Project of the Year – any event/project held in 2009 that benefits the community of Campbelltown. The event/project must be coordinated by a community organisation based in the Campbelltown LGA.
Ages are applicable as at 31 December 2009, and to be eligible, individuals need to be Australian citizens and reside in the Campbelltown Local Government Area. Community organisations must be based locally.
