Ai Weiwei & Campbelltown Arts Centre
Campbelltown Arts Centre will present over 45 works that have been sourced by Dr Merewether from private and public collections in Europe, America and China, and include personal loans from the artist. This survey presents an in-depth overview of Ai Weiwei’s practice from the works he created at the beginning of his career in New York in 1985, such as Safe Sex through to Ton of Tea, which is literally a one-ton block of Pur Un Tea that was made in 2006.
Campbelltown Arts Centre is a multidisciplinary contemporary arts centre located in Western Sydney. Since opening in 2005 the Centre has pioneered a contemporary arts program that engages with critical issues of our times. The Centre supports the research, development and production of new work and creates platforms for multidisciplinary arts practice.
