(NDN) National Desexing Network Cooperative Desexing Program for cats

NDN program resumes

  • Council has undertaken a review and is pleased to announce our NDN subsidised cat desexing program has recommenced
  • Enrolments are now open, conditions apply, available while funds last.
For cats only - available year round

Do you have a pregnant cat or an accidental litter of kittens? The National Desexing Network, Campbelltown City Council and participating vets are here to help those in need.

The Campbelltown Cooperative Desexing Program(275KB, PDF) offers eligible cat owners subsidised desexing. There is no limit to the number of animals per household.

Cats should be desexed from 2 to 3 months old as they can become pregnant from just 4 months old.


NDN eligibility criteria

 To be eligible to enrol for this program you must:

  • live in the Campbelltown Local Government Area (LGA) and bring proof of this with you on the day
  • be a pensioner or low income earner below $25,000 per year and bring proof of this with you on the day
  • be 18 years old or over.

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, you will NOT be eligible to enrol for the NDN program.



Program enrolment and fees

Call National Desexing Network directly on 1300 368 992 to obtain you desexing voucher.

You only pay:

Contribution fees
First Female Cat $65
Additional Female Cats $50
Male Cat $55


Cats must be microchipped either before or at the time of desexing

By law cats (other than cats exempt under legislation) must be microchipped by 12 weeks of age. 

  • The Animal Care Facility can microchip your cat at the facility for a reduced rate of $10 for those who are participating in the NDN program. No prior appointment is necessary.
  • Alternatively, you can arrange for your cat to be microchipped at a reduced rate at the time of desexing.

(CAWS) Companion Animal Subsidised Desexing Program

For both cats and dogs - enrol from March to September

Eligible dog and cat owners are offered subsidised desexing, microchipping and first vaccination.


CAWS eligibility criteria

To be eligible to enrol up to two animals per household for the CAWS program you must:

  • live in the Campbelltown Local Government Area (LGA) and bring proof of this with you on the day
  • be a pensioner or low income earner below $25,000 per year and bring proof of this with you on the day
  • be able to make full payment for the program on the enrolment day
  • be 18 years old or over.

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, you will NOT be able to enrol in the CAWS Program.



Program enrolment and fees

You will need to attend an enrolment day to complete enrolment forms and make your owner contribution payment.

  • Bookings are essential and is available through our event page when enrolments open between March to September
  • No walk up registrations are able to be taken on the day
  • Payment must be made at the time of enrolment:

Lifetime register your pet

Once your animal has been desexed, the lifetime registration fee will be at a reduced rate.

  • You'll need to bring your desexing certificate (and pension card if you have one) with you when you register your animal.
  • All cats and dogs (other than cats and dogs exempt under legislation) must be registered at 6 months old.
