Herbicide spraying for noxious aquatic plants will be undertaken from January 2018 to May 2018, within the catchments of the Nepean River, Bow Bowing Creek, Bunbury Curran Creek and Georges River.
Herbicide spraying for the noxious aquatic plants; Alligator weed (Alternanthera philoxeroides) and Ludwigia (Ludwigia peruviana), will be undertaken from January 2018 to May 2018.
Alligator Weed infestations will be treated using Metsulfuron Methyl and/or Glyphosate and Ludwigia infestations will be treated using 2,4-D and/or Glyphosate. These chemicals are applied according to the manufacturer’s specifications and are registered for this use by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority.
The public is advised not to use, drink, or swim in waterways during the herbicide application periods.
