Every year Council allocates funds to implement an annual program of baulks to deter irresponsible behaviour in walkways.
Council determines the annual baulks program by taking into consideration all requests made by the community and examining laneways where baulks would a safety measure to prevent any irresponsible behaviour.
The walkway requests are prioritised in accordance with the safety risk attributable to the nature of the reported non-pedestrian conflict as follows:
- Motor Vehicles
- Motor Bikes
- Relocation for property security.
The request is then prioritised in accordance with the date the request was made.
