Every year Council allocates funds to implement an annual program of baulks to deter irresponsible behaviour in walkways.
Council determines the annual baulks program by taking into consideration all requests made by the community and examining laneways where baulks would a safety measure to prevent any irresponsible behaviour.
The walkway requests are prioritised in accordance with the safety risk attributable to the nature of the reported non-pedestrian conflict as follows:
- Motor Vehicles
- Motor Bikes
- Relocation for property security.
The request is then prioritised in accordance with the date the request was made.
We currently have the following baulk constructions scheduled for the first half of 2018:
Richmond Crescent to Broughton Street, Campbelltown
Correa Place to Fifth Avenue Reserve, Macquarie Fields
Bennett Street to John Rider Reserve, Minto
Maryweather Close to Longhurst Road, Minto
Vickers Place to Walrus Place, Raby
Archinald Crescent to Bardolph Avenue, Rosemeadow
Skye Place to St Andrews Park, St Andrews
Amazon Place to Jemima Jenkins Reserve, Kearns
Beryl Close to Fullwood Reserve, Eagle Vale
As the construction of the baulks progress, updates will be added to this page.
