Entries in the 2017 Fisher's Ghost Art Award are now open. Entries can be submitted using the online entry form or you can download a printable entry form. Please read the terms and conditions on the entry form before entering.
The Fisher's Ghost Art Award coincides with Campbelltown's annual Festival of Fisher's Ghost. Held over 10 days, the Festival dates back to 1956 and celebrates Australia’s most famous ghost – Frederick Fisher.
The Open section of the Art Award is acquisitive to the C-A-C permanent collection and is awarded prize-money of $20,000. In the past it has been awarded to some of Australia’s most respected Contemporary artists including Elisabeth Cummings, Khaled Sabsabi, Justene Williams, David Bromley, Marion Borgelt, Raquel Ormella and Philip Wolfhagen.

This is a ticketed event, tickets will be available for purchase in September. All pre-selected artists will receive an invitation to attend. Entrants in the Macability Award and school categories will receive two tickets.
Conditions of Entry and Artwork Specifications
• Works must have been produced within the last 2 years.
• All artworks must be for sale.
• One entry is allowed per category, a maximum two entries per artist.
• Artists may enter these works into any Award.
• Previous entries will not be accepted.

All artworks will be preselected for exhibition and must be accompanied by an image.
One (1) entry per category with a maximum of two (2) entries per artist is permitted.

Artworks in this category must be created in a traditional style such as; still life, realism, landscape, portraiture or using traditional techniques.

Artwork in this category must be in the form of sculpture, be it in traditional sculpture, wall based or installation, ceramic, jewellery or other 3D form.

$5,000 Surrealism Award

The James Gleeson Surrealism Award has been established to promote surrealist practices within contemporary art in Australia. The award is open to artists who have a practice in painting, drawing and collage with a strong influence and focus on Surrealism. Surrealism is defined as an artistic style that explores the subconscious minds free of intentional logical meaning. The award will be selected under this definition and is open to any artist living in Australia and working within the above mentioned mediums.
