Significant Tree Register

Council has a Significant Tree Register(79KB, PDF) that lists certain trees within the Campbelltown Local Government Area that have been classified as having significant values related to their visual, historic, botanical, cultural or commemorative significance.

A Development Application is required for the pruning or removal of a tree listed in the Register in accordance with the provisions of Council's Sustainable City Development Control Plan. The application will be assessed by Council staff and may be referred to Council for final determination.

The Nomination and Assessment Process for inclusion of a nominated tree(s) on the Register has been developed to assist with the nomination of relevant trees. The procedure will ensure that the owner(s) of nominated trees are:

  • Informed of the nomination as soon as possible
  • Provided with the opportunity to make representations to Council concerning the nomination
  • Granted the opportunity to address Council’s Planning and Environment Committee

An application form for the Nomination of a Significant Tree can be used to nominate a tree worthy of inclusion into the Register.
