Council’s leisure facilities will reopen in a staged approach over the next few weeks to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.

From Monday 11 October, the indoor pool and gym at Eagle Vale Central will be available to book for lap swimming and rehab as well as the gym for Macquarie Fields Fitness and Indoor Centre, in addition to the outdoor pools already open to the public.

Further facilities will open up over the coming weeks.

“Our staff are implementing a COVID-safety plan to ensure all residents attending the leisure centres are able to enjoy a comfortable and safe environment,” Mayor George Brticevic said,

“We look forward to welcoming back our full range of programs in the future as we move back toward normality,” Cr Brticevic said.

Sports Hall bookings will also be available at Macquarie Fields Fitness and Indoor Centre from 11 October.

In line with the current public health order, all members of the public aged 16 and over will need to be fully vaccinated to enter the leisure facilities.

Masks will be mandatory for staff and members of the public visiting the facilities and a COVID screening officer will be located at the entry point of the facility.
