IT & Biscuits

The IT & Biscuits program provides a number of sessions on a wide range of technologies. The sessions are suitable for all ages.

A description of the sessions available is below, for details on dates and times for the sessions please see the 2017 IT & Biscuits program.(389KB, PDF)

Sessions are free, but bookings are essential.

We strongly recommend bringing your own device (laptop, Apple or Android) along to the sessions.

Come along, have a coffee or tea and some biscuits and enjoy!


Basic Computers
This is for beginners and will involve an explanation of computers and how they work, as well as hands-on use of the computer.

Basic Internet and Email
A hands-on beginners look at using the internet and email. We will look at the basics of the internet, and setting up and using an email account.

A look at using Skype, which includes a demonstration.

Facebook for beginners
Look at how to set up a Facebook account and what you can do with the settings.

Facebook Q & A
For those who are already using Facebook and have some questions about privacy, or using the platform effectively.

Photographic apps
A look at which apps can be used to take, change and store photographs.

E-Reader and e-Reading apps
A hands-on session to learn how to download and use our eBook software and e-Readers in general.

Windows for Laptops and Tablets
A look at Windows and how it works. From Windows 10 and back to 8 and 7, we will look at all things Windows.

Apple and Android phones
An in-depth look at Apple and Android phones and tablets and how to use them.

Apple and Android devices
An in-depth look at iPads and tablets and how to use them.

Online shopping
A basic look at what can be bought (and sold) using the internet. We will explain types of shopping apps like eBay and selling apps like Gumtree.


Tech Savvy Seniors

The Tech Savvy Seniors program provides seniors with a number of beginner sessions on the use of technology.

Free training for seniors to help you get online and connected. These sessions will teach you how to use computers, the internet, email and social media.

This year we are pleased to announce that we will be running this program in English and Hindi.


Introduction to computers 6 March
Introduction to the internet 13 March
Introduction to email 20 March
Introduction to cyber safety 27 March
Introduction to iPads 10 April

These sessions will be held at Eagle Vale Library.


 Introduction to computers 1 May

 Introduction to the internet (part 2) 15 May
 Introduction to email 22 May

These sessions will be held at HJ Daley Library.
