IT & Biscuits


The IT & Biscuits program provides a number of sessions on a wide range of technologies.

A description of the sessions available is below, for details on dates and times for the sessions please see this years IT & Biscuits program.(690KB, PDF)

Sessions are free, but bookings are essential.

We strongly recommend bringing your own device (laptop, Apple or Android) along to the sessions.

Come along, have a coffee or tea and some biscuits and enjoy!


Basic computers
This is for beginners and will involve an explanation of computers and how they work, as well as hands-on use of the computer.

Basic Internet and Email
A hands-on beginners look at using the internet and email. We will look at the basics of the internet, and what is involved in setting up an email account.

Apps and how to use them
A look at using popular apps such as Facebook, Instagram, library apps and others.

Cyber safety
Tips on staying safe while online and the common threats to look out for.

Online shopping
A basic look at what can be bought (and sold) using the internet using a range of shopping apps like eBay, and selling apps like Gumtree.

Windows for laptops and tablets - A buyer's guide
If you are interested in buying a laptop, we look at Windows and Macintosh laptops and what might best suit you, with tips on the best way to research what is available and what to look out for.

Apple and Android tablets - A buyer's guide
An in-depth look at Apple and Android tablets and what might best suit your needs if you are looking to purchase one.

Apple and Android phones - A buyer's guide
An in-depth look at phones and what might best suit your needs. We look at what you need to be aware of when purchasing or using a mobile phone.

Not sure how to attach a photo to an email? Facebook privacy is causing you some concern? Not sure how to add a contact to your mobile phone? We can help! Come along with your technology questions and problems (and your portable devices) for one-on-one assistance. Each session lasts for 20 minutes and we cover a range of technology types such as tablets, laptops and mobile phones.

Tech Savvy Seniors

The Tech Savvy Seniors program provides seniors with a number of beginner sessions on the use of technology.

Free training for seniors to help you get online and connected. These sessions will teach you how to use computers, the internet, email and social media.

This year we are pleased to announce that we will be running this program in English and Hindi.


Introduction to computers 6 March
Introduction to the internet 13 March
Introduction to email 20 March
Introduction to cyber safety 27 March
Introduction to iPads 10 April

These sessions will be held at Eagle Vale Library.
