IT & Biscuits


The IT & Biscuits program provides a number of sessions on a wide range of technologies.

A description of the sessions available is below, for details on dates and times for the sessions please see this years IT & Biscuits: What's on Page. on download our current IT and Biscuits flyer(2MB, PDF).

Sessions are free, but bookings are essential.

We strongly recommend bringing your own device (laptop, Apple or Android) along to the sessions.

Come along, have a coffee or tea and some biscuits and enjoy!


Technology - a buyers guide
An in depth look at pitfalls, research tips and terminology when buying laptops, phones, tablets, smart watches and many more.

Apps and how to use them
A look at using popular apps such as Facebook, Instagram, library apps and others.

Online Games and Hobbies
A look at the different types of games and hobbies that you can acces on the Internet. From brain training games to geographical guessing games to online chess to card games.

Data and WiFi
An explanation of data and WiFi as well as some tips for reducing data use and using public WiFi safely.

Online shopping
A basic look at what can be bought (and sold) using the internet using a range of shopping apps like eBay, and selling apps like Gumtree.

Communicating Online
How to use the Internet to communicate through Facebook, Skype, WhatsApp, Messenger and what you need to know about things like data and

Not sure how to attach a photo to an email? Facebook privacy is causing you some concern? Not sure how to add a contact to your mobile phone? We can help! Come along with your technology questions and problems (and your portable devices) for one-on-one assistance. Each session lasts for 20 minutes and we cover a range of technology types such as tablets, laptops and mobile phones. Contact your nearest library branch to organise a convenient time and day for your session.

Tech Savvy Seniors

The Tech Savvy Seniors program provides seniors with a number of beginner sessions on the use of technology.

Free training for seniors to help you get online and connected. These sessions will teach you how to use computers, the internet, email, tablets and social media.

For the first half of the year we are pleased to announce that we will be running this program in English, Hindi and Mandarin.
