In 2024, the format of these events is changing. Instead of a weekend event, we will be hosting two single days throughout the year.

Roll up the garage door and break open the garden shed doors. Bring old chemicals and paints to the next free Household Chemical CleanOut event.

We work in partnership with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW EPA) to host Household Chemical CleanOut events to allow residents to dispose of household chemicals safely and free of charge.

You can drop off the following items for disposal:

Home items Garage / car items

Yes Solvents and household cleaners
Yes Floor care products
Yes Ammonia based cleaners
Yes Fluorescent lights - globes and tubes
Yes Smoke detectors
Yes Fire extinguishers
Yes Batteries

Yes Pesticides and herbicides
Yes Pool chemicals
Yes Acids and alkalis
Yes Hobby chemicals
Yes Poisons
Yes Paint and paint related products
Yes Gas bottles
Yes Car batteries
Yes Motor oils, fuels and fluids

Only household quantities (up to 20 litres or 20kg of any one item) will be accepted, except paint. Up to 100L (in 20L containers) of paint will be accepted. Remember to handle and transport your chemicals carefully.

Can’t wait until the next Household Chemical CleanOut event?

Some of the items accepted at the Household Chemical CleanOut can be dropped off all year round at our Community Recycling Centre. Check what’s accepted and visit the centre in Hepher Road, Campbelltown.
