Women in the Workplace Symposium

Come join and network with other like-minded women and receive practical advice from local expert speakers across different areas of topics at the Women in the Workplace Symposium!


The Women in the Workplace Symposium provides local Campbelltown women with the opportunity to network and receive practical advice from local experts across multiple topics pertaining to women who are currently in the workplace, are entering the workplace, or are returning back to the workplace.

The symposium will feature four local guest speakers, with each speaker presenting information on their area of expertise to help empower women in work and in life by achieving both personal and professional success. Topics include:

  • Mental health and work-life balance
  • Personal branding and leadership development
  • Job searching and interview skills
  • Lifestyle and styling for women in the workplace

This FREE event includes light catering and refreshments, and will provide an opportunity for participants to network with other women in attendance, or any of the symposium presenters, and establish personal or professional connections.

Meet the presenters 

Clare McCabe

Clare commenced her career in the Banking and Finance industry, taking on numerous operational roles and gaining management and leadership experience across a number of supervisory and management roles.

Having successfully gained a Bachelor of Business degree (Human Resources / Industrial Relations) and a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Clare moved into Human Resources roles and gained extensive experience across a number of large organisations working in Australia and internationally.

Established in 2008, MacPac HR works with the leaders and managers of organisations to create strong foundations that will enable sustainable growth and continued success. 

As a corporate trainer and coach, Clare focuses on the need for education and development at both an organisation and individual level. With a real passion for developing the next generation of leaders, MacPac HR works closely with each client to identify the areas for development, creating tailored programs to achieve results.

Melissa Owen

Melissa is a local HR specialist who has diverse experience across recruitment, group training/facilitating, coaching and generalist Human Resources in addition to Work Health & Safety. With qualifications in Business, Human Resources, Employment Law and Career Development, Melissa has all aspects of recruitment, career and employment covered. 

Since establishing her company, CEO of One, in 2015 Melissa has worked with and delivered job search programs for local councils in the Macarthur region. Her passion to empower job seekers to find jobs they love has helped many individuals achieve their career goals. Melissa also specialises in delivering job search programs for women who are entering the workplace or are returning back to the workplace.  

In addition to providing a range of job search and career workshops, Melissa is actively engaged in the community through leading local job search and employer groups. 

Antoinette Stonham

Antoinette is an expert in personal and professional styling and has a background in customised pattern making and design. Her skillset and experience has seen Antoinette work with the rich and the famous through pattern making, designing and constructing garments for her clients to suit their body shapes and personalities.

Antoinette has had experience managing a fashion house in Double Bay and has also worked with the LGBT community in preparing, designing and creating costumes for the Mardi Gras.

Turning fifty made her stop and think about doing something that she was truly passionate about. With her skill, passion and expertise Antoinette undertook a Personal Styling course with one of Australia’s leading stylist.

Antoinette then launched her own business, All About Style, in 2013 and since its inception her business has won multiple awards. She was the winner of the Linking Ladies Home Based Business of the year 2015, Winner of the Most Inspirational Mum in Biz 2018 and was a finalist in the Local Business Awards and Australian Small Business Champion Awards multiple times from 2015 onwards.

Antoinette wants to help both men and women no matter what size or shape they are, to feel confident within themselves and be able to look in the mirror and love what they see.

Cheryl Paradella

Cheryl is a local qualified educator and counsellor who has resided in Macarthur for over 17 years and provides support to the community in the fields of alcohol and drug abuse, mental health and child protection.

Cheryl is passionate about mental health and is an advocate for people with mental health issues to be treated with respect and with the health services needed, whilst also breaking down the stigma associated with mental health.

In 2018, Cheryl assumed the position of President of Beautiful Minds, a local community committee who advocate, fund and raise awareness for mental health in south west Sydney.  

Outside of her career, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, and loves to go fishing and boating, with the occasional massage on the side!
