If you've ever wondered what pure happiness looks like, it's Benji racing around the yard with a toy in his mouth, convinced he's just won the lottery. If there's a toy nearby, Benji has already claimed it. Tennis balls? Amazing. Squeaky toys? Even better. Sticks? Yep... they'll do too. As far as Benji's concerned, life is one big game.

Benji isn't just about the toys! he's a clever boy too! He already knows some pretty cool tricks, including shake, spin, and drop, and he'll happily show off his skills, as long as there's a treat involved! Once he's nailed his performance, he'll politely sit and give you that "I think I've earned a snack" look that's almost impossible to say no to.

Benji prefers to be the one to decide when it's playtime! He can take a little while to warm up to other dogs, but once he's feeling comfortable, his playful side shines through. Benji would love to be the only dog in the home so he can soak up all the attention, but he's more than happy to make doggy friends outside of the house with slow, respectful introductions.

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
