Access to Bushland

One of Council's greatest assets is its natural bushland environments. These areas are habitats for a number of endangered native flora and fauna.

One of the Rangers' key functions is to protect these areas from unauthorised access by recreational vehicles such as trail bikes or people dumping rubbish in bushland that may endanger this sensitve environment.

Rangers patrol access gates, fence lines and fire trails and organise repair and maintenance as needed. This also includes working closely with other Council Departments and government agencies to fund new fencing and gates for unprotected bushland environments.

People caught misusing our bushland environments risk prosecution or fines exceeding $1,500.
