When is my bin day?

By downloading the My Waste Bin app, you can even set yourself weekly bin day reminders. 

My bin wasn't emptied, what do I do?

If your bin was missed on your collection day, report it online or give our friendly Customer Service team a call on 02 4645 4000.

If you get in touch within 2 days, we’ll be able to send a truck back to empty it for you.

How do I organise a bin repair?

If your bin is damaged, has a broken wheel, or a cracked lid, you can book in a free repair.

Once your bin repair is booked, simply place your damaged bin on the kerb and it will be repaired or replaced within 3 business days.

What are the bin presentation guidelines?

  • Place bins on the kerb outside your property before 6am on your collection day
  • Present bins at least 50cm apart
  • Do not overfill your bins - the lids must close
  • Ensure your bins do not weigh more than 70kgs each
  • Place your bins on the kerb (not gutter or road) with opening (Council Logo) facing the road
  • Keep bins clear of cars, trees and overhead wires
  • Do not park vehicles in turning circles after 6am on collection day
  • For battle axe properties, place bins near the closest neighbour’s kerb
  • Bins are Council owned and it is illegal to remove bins from a property
  • Remove your bins from the kerb on the day of collection, once they have been serviced

How do I order new bins for my new home?

Moving into a newly-built home or development?

To organise your new bins, call Council’s Customer Service team on 02 4645 4000.

Once your new service request is approved, bins will be delivered within 3 business days, and your rates will be updated accordingly.

Important Information:

  • The property must have an Occupation Certificate
  • Only the property owner, managing agent, or strata manager can request a new service
  • Bin charges are payable through the property’s council rates
  • Ensure an occupant is residing at the property as you request the service

 


Kerbside clean up

What is included in a kerbside clean up?

Residents can book up to four kerbside clean ups each calendar year.

A kerbside clean up includes one cubic metre of material (1m wide x 1m height x 1m depth) and can be booked for general waste or scrap metal collection.
