Koshigaya Park

Koshigaya Park's playground is protected by shade cloths

Koshigaya Park is the crown jewel of Campbelltown’s parks. A popular venue for outdoor activities and functions, you'll find sheltered picnic tables, BBQ facilities, toilet amenities and playground.

Named after Campbelltown's sister city in Japan, the park’s playground caters to kids of all ages. They’ll spend hours playing on climbing frames, slides, swings, jungle gyms and interactive learning games. A fenced playground with swing is designed especially for children with disabilities. Shade cloths protect kids from the harsh sun while soft-rubber fall will help avoid tears. Kids and parents alike will also love all the open space to run and play games.

Sit down to a meal at an undercover picnic table cooked at one of the communal BBQs. After lunch, take a leisurely stroll or bike ride on the cycleway and admire the beautiful gardens. You're also right next to Campbelltown CBD's shops and restaurants, including Campbelltown Mall.

Additional Features

Everyone is welcome at the Campbelltown 2020 Yarning Circle

Campbelltown's first public yarning circle, built as part of the Campbelltown 2020 program at Koshigaya Park, offers the opportunity to experience a part of Aboriginal culture and history and come together in a special place for a yarn (chat), to meet with your family and friends, meet with your colleagues or as a place to learn.

A prominent feature of the Yarning Circle is a series of artworks and carvings depicting the Lyrebird which is an Aboriginal Dreaming story that tells the story of the Lyrebird as being an animal that was able to communicate with all the other animals to resolve disputes.

Other features includes a series of sandstone rocks, bush tucker tree plantings and messaging in Dharawal language.

The Lyrebird and Wiritjiribin feather artwork featured within the space was created by Aunty Jenny Shillingsworth and Uncle Larry Hill.
