Meet Lemon,
Lemon is a lovey girl with a big personality and some very firm opinions about how friendships should work. She can be unsure of new people and likes to take her time deciding whether you’ve earned her trust, but once she starts feeling comfy, you’ll see a much softer side emerge. She’ll wander over for pats, happily smooch herself along walls and furniture, and show you that affection is absolutely on the table — it just happens to be on Lemon’s terms and table.
She’s an independent girl who enjoys a little attention without needing to be attached to your hip. Lemon can be picked up briefly when needed, but cuddling isn’t really her thing, and she appreciates people who can read her signals and know when she’s had enough. Give her that choice and space, and she’s much happier to come to you when she’s ready. The quickest way to begin negotiations is with food. Lemon absolutely loves treats, and a tasty offering can turn a suspicious stranger into a considerably more interesting person.
Playtime seems to be something Lemon is only just beginning to discover. Moving ribbons have caught her attention, and it may simply be that toys are new to her and she needs some time to work out what all the fuss is about. In a home where she feels safe and settled, it will be lovely to see whether that curious side continues to grow. She’s already got the important household skills sorted, though, with perfect litter tray manners.
Lemon is looking for a quieter home with experienced cat owners who won’t expect her trust straight away and are happy to let their relationship develop at her pace. She’d likely prefer a home without dogs, and while she has shown some curiosity towards other cats, she can become worried when they get too close — so being the only cat may suit her best, or introductions would need to be exceptionally slow. Lemon may not hand her affection out to everybody she meets, but that’s exactly what makes winning her over so special. Give her patience, respect her boundaries and keep a few good snacks handy, and you might just earn yourself a place in Lemon’s very exclusive inner circle.
