1. What will the new Multi-purpose Community Facilities Hub actually include, and who is it for?
The Hub is being designed as a hirable space for the community. It will include flexible indoor spaces that can be used for community outreach, community meetings, programs, and events. The facility will have meeting rooms, a multipurpose hall, laundry and a commercial kitchen. The project is to support families, young people, and community groups, while also providing access to organisations that can give assistance to vulnerable people in the Campbelltown area.
2. How long will construction take and when will it start?
Construction on this project has started. It is scheduled to be completed by mid-2027.
3. Will the existing Hurley Park Hall still be open during construction?
The existing Hurley Park Hall is will be demolished during construction. Those who regularly hire out the venue have been advised prior to the current facility's closure.
4. What kind of noise, dust, or disruption should we expect during construction?
There will be some noise, vehicle movements, and construction activity during standard work hours. Measures will be in place to manage dust, safety, and traffic impacts. Work will follow Council and NSW guidelines to reduce disruption to nearby residents, schools, and park users as much as possible.
5. How can I get updates or provide feedback during the works?
Council will provide project updates and contact details on its website and on-site signage. Residents, centre users and community groups are encouraged to contact Council with any questions, concerns or feedback regarding access, safety or construction impacts.
