1. What is the Minto Multicultural Community Centre Enhancement project?
This project will upgrade and enhance the Minto Multicultural Community Centre to provide improved facilities for programs, events and community activities. The enhancements aim to create a welcoming, accessible and updated space for people of all ages and cultural backgrounds while creating greater opportunity for organisations to better serve the community.
2. Who will be able to use the centre once the upgrades are complete?
The centre will continue to serve community groups, multicultural organisations, families and individuals. The upgrades will make it easier and more enjoyable to attend programs, meetings, events and recreational activities, supporting a wide range of community needs.
3. Will the centre remain open during construction?
Some areas of the centre may be temporarily closed during construction to ensure safety. Council will aim to keep as much of the facility open as possible and will provide advance notice and clear signage about any changes to access or available spaces.
4. What impacts should residents and visitors expect during construction?
During construction, residents and visitors may notice construction vehicles, temporary fencing, and some noise during standard construction hours. Access into the car park will be maintained in a reduced capacity to ensure that patrons and Council and contractors will work to reduce disruption and maintain safety around the centre.
5. How can I get updates or provide feedback during the works?
Council will provide project updates and contact details on its website and on-site signage. Residents, centre users and community groups are encouraged to contact Council with any questions, concerns or feedback regarding access, safety or construction impacts.
6. When will this project be finished?
Construction is scheduled to be finished in late 2027.
