Meet The Bincredible Hulk: Our recycling mascot officially has a name
Published on 09 October 2025
Campbelltown’s recycling mascot officially has a name, thanks to the creativity of local primary school student, Savannah, from Minto Public School.
The winning entry was chosen from over 60 submissions in the Name Our Bin Buddy Mascot Naming Competition which invited primary school aged children in the Campbelltown LGA to put forward their ideas.
When asked why she chose the name, Savannah explained: “The Hulk is powerful and that’s where the Bincredible Hulk idea came from. It represents the power we all have to make a difference through recycling.”
Savannah will receive a prize pack, and a special visit from the recycling mascot with the Mayor of Campbelltown later in the year. Her school class will also enjoy a fully funded recycling education session.
“The competition has been a fun way to get our young residents thinking about recycling and how we play a part in reducing waste. It’s been wonderful to see how creative our local students were in coming up with names for our recycling mascot,” said Mayor of Campbelltown, Darcy Lound.
“I’d like to congratulate Savannah on their fantastic winning entry and thank all the students and schools who took part in the competition,” Cr Lound said.
The 3 runners up, Leo from Campbelltown Public School, Sofija from St Sava College and Ihsan from Ruse Public School have also received prize packs for their entries.
