Playgrounds across Campbelltown will be kept cooler in the summer months following the installation of new shade sails at 7 local parks.

Mayor George Greiss said the shade sails were placed at parks that were popularly attended, especially during warmer times of year.

“It’s important that are playgrounds are accessible all year round so that families can get outdoors and enjoy the great play equipment at our parks,” Dr Greiss said.

New shade sail locations include:

  • Digger Black Reserve, Ingleburn
  • Eschol Park Sports Complex, Eschol Park
  • Kenny Reserve, Bradbury
  • Lorraine Cibilic Reserve, Woodbine
  • Macquarie Fields Park, Macquarie Fields
  • Rizal Park. Rosemeadow
  • Hallinan Park, Ingleburn

The installation of new shade sails is part of the wider $2.4 million City Amenity and Appeal Program which includes investment to improve public spaces and a city cleaning program targeting the Campbelltown and Ingleburn CBDs.
