Growing Healthy Kids in South West Sydney

South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) and Campbelltown City Council have partnered to support the Childhood Overweight and Obesity Action Plan. This plan comes out of the Premier's priority to tackle childhood obesity. Together, as partners we will support our community by growing healthy kids across South Western Sydney and work towards achieving the NSW Premier’s priority of reducing childhood overweight and obesity by 5% over 10 years.

We have committed to improving the health and wellbeing of kids by:

  • Engaging parents of young children in their homes and communities
  • Reaching our multicultural, Aboriginal and vulnerable communities
  • Creating healthier physical activity and food environments
  • Providing better weight-management and advice services for children and their families.

The local plan, 'Campbelltown - Changing Our Future', launched 11 April 2018, is a highly collaborative approach which engages the community in raising awareness and taking action to reduce overweight and obesity and increase health in children and young people.
