Campbelltown Writer's Group

Build writing skills, develop new work and connect with other local writers in your library. The Campbelltown Writer's Group is a fortnightly in person creative writing group held at Campbelltown Library during the school term for people who live, work or study in Campbelltown.

Led by a published local author, this group is designed especially for developing writers who want to strengthen their craft, explore new ideas and gain confidence through regular practice and feedback.

Each session offers the chance to workshop writing, respond to prompts, discuss creative techniques and share work in progress with fellow writers.

This term, participants will focus on developing submissions for the 2026 Fisher's Ghost Writing Prize, marking 200 years of the Fisher's Ghost story. With the theme Years in the Making, it is the ideal time to refine a piece and take part in a much loved local writing tradition.

About the facilitator

C. R. Masters has lived and worked in South-Western Sydney her entire life. She began writing as a child but has recently returned to the fold after having three children. She was highly commended in her LGA for her entries to the 2022 and 2023 Westwords Living Stories competitions, writing about her time growing up in housing commission. She was also longlisted for the 2022 Hachette Australia Richell Prize for her first science-fiction manuscript. C. R. is currently working on completing an anthology of short stories that explore the perceptions and experiences of women in Australian society.
