Why is Public Liability Insurance (PLI) required?
Public Liability Insurance is required for organisations participating in the parade to help protect participants, spectators, event staff, and organisers in the unlikely event of an incident that results in injury or property damage. As the parade is conducted in a public setting with large crowds, participating groups must hold a minimum of $20 million Public Liability Insurance to ensure appropriate risk management measures are in place and to meet Council's event participation requirements.
Do I require insurance?
If you are participating as an individual and want to drive your own vehicle, you will need to provide a copy of your registration, CTP Green Slip and comprehensive motor vehicle insurance The entry of vehicles used solely or primarily for the purpose of business promotion is not permitted.
Why has the parade route different?
The contemporary parade will commence at the intersection of Dumaresq Street and Queen Street, proceed north along Queen Street, and conclude in Cordeaux Street. This route has been designed to create a more connected festival experience for participants and spectators, while activating key areas of the Campbelltown CBD.
This approach also minimises impacts on other Festival elements, including Twilight Streets and the Carnival, while continuing to celebrate and showcase the spirit and diversity of the Campbelltown community.
What happens if it rains?
The show must go on! If weather conditions become extreme and pose risk to attendees, contractors and/or crew, the event may be cancelled. Notification will be provided via Council’s social media channels.
