Celebrate NSW Library Open Day with us at one of your libraries on Thursday 30 July 2026.

Whether you're a regular library visitor, haven't stopped by in a while, or have never stepped inside your local library, Open Doors, Open Books, Open Minds is the perfect opportunity to see your library in a whole new way.

Our libraries will be alive with special events, activities and opportunities to connect throughout the day. Meet library staff, learn about our services, enjoy a program, and uncover the many resources, collections and spaces available to support learning, creativity, wellbeing and lifelong discovery.

Open Doors, Open Books, Open Minds is a coordinated statewide Library Open Day delivered by the NSW Public Libraries Association and the State Library of NSW during Library and Information Week. The initiative showcases the value of public libraries and highlights the many ways they enrich and support their communities.
