Join us for National Tree Day and help make a difference in our local environment on Sunday 26 July.

Get some fresh air, connect with your community, and lend a hand in restoring vital habitat at Bingara Reserve, Saywell Road, Macquarie Fields. Together, we will plant 1,000 native trees and shrubs to help regenerate the critically endangered Sydney River-flat Eucalypt Forest.

Council’s Natural Areas Team, in partnership with Bushcare volunteers and local schools, will host this community planting event from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Up to 100 community volunteers, Koalatown supporters, and students from local primary and high schools are expected to take part.

This planting project builds on the success of a broader restoration partnership with Greening Australia, which saw more than 4,500 native plants established at nearby Milton Park between 2022 and 2025. The additional 1,000 plants at Bingara Reserve will further enhance habitat connectivity, support local wildlife, and contribute to the long-term recovery of this endangered ecological community.

Come along and be part of creating a greener, healthier future for Macquarie Fields.
