The Fisher's Ghost Writing Prize 2025 is back, and it's bigger and better than ever.

Whether you create short stories, write narrative non-fiction, share memoirs, or have a flair for poetry, this is your chance to shine.

Since 2020, Campbelltown City Libraries has been teaming up with WestWords to bring this exciting competition to Campbelltown. It's open to anyone who lives, works, or studies in the Campbelltown Local Government area, from grade four and up.

This year's theme is 'Down the Road', so let your imagination run wild and take us on a journey.

Prizes

Adult: Winner $300, Highly Commended $100.

School Students: In each category (Years 10-12, Years 7-9, Years 4-6) Winner $100, Highly Commended $50

Competition details

  • All work must be original and within 500 words, or 25 lines for poetry (excluding the title)
  • Submissions in each age category will be judged on originality, creativity, language construction and engagement with the theme
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to decisions reached
  • Winners will be announced at a special ceremony.
