40th Anniversary Logo Competition

Koshigaya City and Campbelltown will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their sister city relationship on 11 April 2024. To commemorate this milestone and to symbolise the enduring relationship between the two cities, we are inviting the submissions of designs for a logo that represents the sister city exchange, to be used as a promotional symbol.

We encourage submissions from residents of both cities, and hope that the chosen design will reflect the spirit of celebration and unity for the ongoing friendship and prosperity of both Koshigaya City and Campbelltown.

Koshigaya and Campbelltown Sister City Relationship Logo Design Contest

The winning entry will be used as the official logo to symbolise the exchange between the sister cities. It will be featured on various promotional materials such as posters, flyers, and on official websites to highlight projects related to the sister city relationship. In addition, the selected design will be incorporated into a commemorative flag, which will be raised during reciprocal visits by delegations from both cities.

Eligibility

Individuals or groups residing, working, studying, or engaging in activities within Koshigaya City and Campbelltown City are eligible to enter.

Entrants under 18 years of age should obtain consent from a guardian before submitting an entry.

Submission Guidelines

  • The design should clearly convey the sister city exchange between both cities with a friendly and approachable image.
  • Colour choices are open (however, the design might be printed in black-and-white)
  • Pencil drawings are not allowed
  • The design should maintain its visibility and clarity when resized
  • Entries must be original, unpublished, and does not resemble to other or existing designs
  • Each contestant may submit no more than three (3) designs
  • Do not use existing characters such as Gaya-chan or Fred Fisher
  • While this logo will be used to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the sister city relationship, please do not incorporate the characters “40”, to ensure the logo’s long-term use.

Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.

How to submit your entry

Digital files can be sent by email or through a file sharing platform, such as DropBox. 

Hand drawn or illustrated logos will be accepted, however they should be scanned and provided as a PDF. Scanned images may be converted to a digital format and may lose some illustration detail or be edited as required, if selected as the winning design.

Please use the subject line “Entry for Sister City Exchange Project Image Logo” and submit one entry per email. Please limit each email to one submission. Please provide the file in PDF or EPS format, with your name as the file name. If attaching the file to an email, please ensure the total file size does not exceed 10MB. For larger files, please use a file sharing platform.

If your entry is selected as the winning design, we may request the original design file.

Selection Process

Initial Selection

Both cities (Koshigaya City and Campbelltown), Koshigaya City International Exchange Association, and Campbelltown-Koshigaya Sister City Association will shortlist 5 entries from each city.

Final selection

The winning design will be determined through online voting by residents of both cities. Further information on the voting process will be available soon.

Prize money

The winning design will receive a prize of 50,000 yen (Koshigaya residents) or AUD $500 (Campbelltown residents), and an award certificate jointly signed by the Mayors of both Koshigaya and Campbelltown.

Conditions of entry

1. Entries will not accepted if it:

  • is contrary to morality and public order, or anything that contains inappropriate content
  • contains any content that defames or may disdvantage a third party
  • may cause damage to a third party’s reputation, privacy or credibility
  • include political and religious content
  • violates the law or may be connected to any criminal activity
  • does not align with the intent or purpose of this logo-design contest as determined by Koshigaya City, and or Campbelltown City
  • contains content deemed inappropriate

2. Entrants must ensure they are not breaching any copyright or trademark laws and undertake their own due diligence as required:

  • Koshigaya City and Campbelltown Council will not take responsibility for any issues related to the infringement of copyright, or any other disputes over originality.
  • If a private or public figure is included in the design, approval of that person should be sought before submitting the entry.

3. The copyright and all related rights for unrestricted use of the logo of the submitted entries, etc. shall belong to Koshigaya City and/or Campbelltown City Council.

4. Koshigaya City and Campbelltown City (including entrusted third party and those who inherited the rights from both cities) has the right to use or reproduce the submitted entries by any means or method without restrictions. Eg. Use of the submitted entries on online publications, printed materials, marketing collateral, merchandise etc.

5. Koshigaya City and Campbelltown City (including entrusted third party and those who inherited the rights from both cities) can make necessary modifications or edit the submitted entries and can use it online, in print, etc. without any restrictions.

6. Submitted entries that violates the rules of the contest will be rejected and it will not be included in the selection process.

7. When selected as the winning design, the designer may be required to provide written permission for ongoing use of the logo by way of a written agreement.

8.Submitting an entry means the entrant agrees to the terms and conditions of this logo-design contest.

9. Employees of Campbelltown City Council are not eligible to enter.

Privacy and personal information

Entrants’ personal information will be handled appropriately and will not be used for any purpose other than for the purpose of this logo-design contest. However, we will include the winner’s name and suburb, upon announcement of the winner. 

Decision

The participant can’t file any complaint or objection against Koshigaya City and or Campbelltown City about the handling of the submitted and selected entries, all decisions are final.

Disclaimer

Koshigaya City, and or Campbelltown City will not take responsibility for:

  • Any damage incurred regardless of the reason. Participants choosing to enter the logo-design contest, do so at their own choice and will be responsible for any loss or damage that might occur while joining.
  • Any damages caused by the submitted work.

Please note that Koshigaya City, and or Campbelltown City may change and modify the content details of this logo-design contest without prior notice.
