Achilles is the perfect addition to any family, whether you're a seasoned dog owner or a first-timer. This handsome boy is adaptable to various lifestyles and is sure to a stand out!

About: Achilles is a friendly, happy, and playful boy who will undoubtedly fill your days with love & laughter.

If you're seeking a loyal and loving companion for your adventures, he's the one!

Ideal Home: Achilles thrives in a variety of living environments, from bustling households to serene retreats. Whether you're a busy family with kids or a single or couple, Achilles is your guy.

He dreams of a home with a medium to large yard and high secure fencing, ensuring he has the freedom to explore the great outdoors while keeping him safe.

Family: He's open to meeting children aged 8 years and older. Reason for this that he can sometimes be a little snatchy with toys during play time.

Even full-time workers will find his adaptable nature fits seamlessly into their routine.

Furry Friends: Achilles used to be unsure on how to interact with other dogs - this would be due to him not receiving adequate socialisation during his younger years in his previous home. However, his recent dog assessment showed incredible progress with his dog interactions and we are going to continue to socialise him with other dogs. He was social & playful and could potentially live with another dog but at the same time is content being the only dog in your life too.

Sorry feline friends, Achilles has a high prey drive, so a cat-free home is a must.

Training & Development: Achilles is a smart cookie, responsive to his name and quick to learn commands. While he may playfully test your patience, a bit of post-adoption training at home will keep his mind sharp and engaged.

He's food-motivated and takes treats gently – a perfect candidate for shaping into your ideal furry friend.

We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.

Play: Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! Achilles is your ideal companion for hikes, runs, and playtime in the yard.

He loves all kinds of toys but beware of anything with stuffing – this strong boy can't resist a good chew & stuffing explosion! Don't worry; he knows when playtime ends and is a pro at settling down.

Got an active lifestyle? Achilles is your perfect exercise partner! With a medium to high energy level, he thrives on daily walks and play sessions ranging from 30 to 60 minutes.

Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
