Meet Aurora,
If you’re searching for a sweet, gentle soul to share your space with, Aurora might just be your perfect match. From what we see in the cattery, she’s calm, friendly and affectionate, preferring life at an easy, unhurried pace during the day. She’s the kind of cat who enjoys quiet company and relaxed moments, happily soaking up her surroundings.
Aurora is nocturnal. Word on the street is that she's a bit of a night owl - once the sun goes down, she really comes into her own — this is when she likes to play, get active, and make her feelings known. Because of this, Aurora would suit just about anyone, but she’d be an especially great fit for a shift worker who’s out during the day (perfect nap time for Aurora) and up at night when she’s ready to shine.
Aurora adores being picked up and cuddled and is quite content to perch on your shoulder to supervise your daily activities. She melts for cheek scratches and gentle pats and enjoys being close to her people without ever being demanding. She’s not a cat who needs constant attention — she’s happy to be near you and enjoy affection when it comes, without expecting it all the time.
She’s not particularly interested in toys, but when her night shift kicks in, the zoomies are definitely on the table. During the day, she prefers her cosy bed and peaceful downtime. Aurora isn’t fussy with food, rarely meows (unless it’s after dark), and gets along well with people of all ages. Her curious, social nature paired with her relaxed, low-energy vibe makes her a lovely addition to a calm home.
Aurora is a gentle, affectionate sweetheart who will bring warmth to your home — and likely claim your comfiest chair — all while putting on her best performance once the lights go out.
Aurora is not suitable to live with dogs - they scare her.
Aurora is not suitable to live with other cats - she prefers to be the only cat in the home.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Aurora has already experienced living on the streets and she enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible.
Staff Comments: Aurora is sweet girl who is also an excellent mother to the kittens she has raised. She is a wonderful mum but is now ready to find her new home. She spends most of her time, curled up on her bed, and she isn't afraid to roll around with delight when she sees you coming towards her.

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
