Fozzie is a happy and social dog, eagerly awaiting his forever family.

About: Fozzie may have some special behaviour needs, but he is perfectly suited for someone who has experience with dogs and is committed to providing him with the love and attention he deserves.

This playful pup would thrive in any type of household, but he's especially perfect for active and outdoorsy individuals or families.

Ideal Home: Fozzie is sure to thrive in a house or a farm with a medium-large securely fenced yard where he can explore and play to his heart's content.

This affectionate pup thrives on human companionship and would love nothing more than to have access to the inside of your home, where he can be close to his family.

Family: He's open to meeting older kids aged 12 and up, as they can provide him with the attention he craves while understanding his need for boundaries.

Fozzie may need someone home regularly for training and companionship, so a part-time worker, or someone who works from home would be ideal.

Furry Friends: During his dog assessment, Fozzie showed a keen interest in interacting with other dogs but lacked the appropriate manners. With continued socialisation and training, he'll quickly pick up the skills needed to be a polite pup in any situation.

As we cannot test, we are unsure how Fozzie would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the direction of his new owners.

As always, we recommend that when introducing your new & existing animals that it is does slowly & that each animals boundaries are respected.

Training & Development: Fozzie would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to help him master basic commands, group classes to assist with the dog social skills or one on one with a professional to encourage decompression after stimulation & leash training.

Foz is food motivated and enjoys treats as rewards for good behaviour.

We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.

Play: Fozzie is always up for a hike or a game of fetch in the yard. Due to a previous unpleasant experience with a leash, Fozzie prefers to be walked on a harness.

His energy needs are high & he would benefit from exercise/walks from 20-30mins a day – please note that he likes quick, short stints of activity.

Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
