Meet Kaiju,
Looking for a sweet, playful, and super smart new best friend? Kaiju might just be your perfect match! This lovely girl is friendly, outgoing, and full of happy, positive energy. She’s gentle, agreeable, and always ready to share a smile.
Kaiju is a dream to walk – she loves her adventures and would thrive with active people or families who enjoy getting out and about. Whether it’s a stroll around the block or a weekend hike, she’s always excited to be by your side.
While Kaiju can be a little bouncy when she’s excited, she’s very manageable and always eager to please. She loves to interact, play, and be part of the fun. Her smart, affectionate nature makes her a delight to spend time with.
Kaiju would suit any household environment and would love an experienced owner who can keep up with her playful spirit. She’s ready to fill your life with laughter, wagging tails, and endless happy moments!
Ideal Home: Kaiju is suitable to live in a standalone home or on a farm/acerage, with a medium to large yard & high, secure fencing.
Family: Kaiju is open to meet kids of any age. Kaiju is fine to spend time in the yard by herself but she does love being with people, so having the option to be inside with her family would mean a lot to her. She would be fine to live with people who work part-time or who are home more often than not.
Furry Friends: Kaiju is dog selective. She is really good with dogs that are friendly & confident being around other dogs compared to dogs that are nervous and unsure. She's a confident girl and she likes to be around other confident dogs that are sure of themselves and the environment.
As we cannot test in the environment, we are not sure how Kaiju would go living with cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Kaiju would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Kaiju is an easy-going dog who doesn't really require much in terms of training.
Kaiju is still learning her name, but she knows commands such as: sit & down. She is food motivated too and is known to be gentle when taking treats from you - so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea. Kaiju loves to train and is very responsive to her training, too.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Kaiju has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise or walks from 20-60mins a day to keep her healthy & happy. Kaiju loves her toys - she likes soft toys & rope toys - she enjoys playing tug with you, too.
Kaiju walks very well on a lead with little to no pulling. She is fine to be walked on any walking apparatus.
Staff Comments: Kaiju is a real dream to walk and she isn't a jumpy dog either. She's very relaxed & very well behaved girl who is easy to train & responsive to her training, too. She is suitable for most home & lifestyles.

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
