    Meet Matilda

Matilda is our full-time dramatic queen and part-time lap dog (in her mind, anyway). She will absolutely announce your arrival with great enthusiasm and demand a hug immediately. Personal space? Never heard of it. Yes, we are all just supporting characters in Matilda’s world.

She’d love to be your one and only so she can soak up alllll the attention. Other dogs can make her a bit uncomfortable — she’s happy to walk past them like the polite lady she is, but she’s not interested in making new besties right now. With time and positive exposure, she may grow in confidence, but for now she’s voting for the solo spotlight. We’re unsure how she feels about cats, so any introductions would need to be slow and sensible.

Because of her enthusiastic “I am baby” energy (in a solid, grown-dog body), we’re recommending a home with kids 8 years and up. When she gets excited, she gets bouncy but once she’s zoomed out her Sunday sillies, she transforms into a deluxe snuggle model who loves a good scratch… and will very specifically show you where to scratch.

Matilda is one smart cookie and wildly food motivated. Training? Easy. Treats? Yes. All treats. Any treats. Every treat. Just maybe keep your chicken safely supervised on the bench. Soft toys are her absolute favourite! She carries them around like prized possessions and treats them like her tiny babies.

If you’re ready for a little drama, a lot of love, and a dog who will make every day feel like a main-character moment, Matilda is waiting to take centre stage in your home.

Campbelltown Animal Care Facility’s adoption fee covers their desexing, standard health check, microchipping & NSW lifetime registration

All animals are also up to date with vaccinations and Flea Tick & Worm Treatments.

The 3-3-3 Rule of Adopting a Dog

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
