Writers of all ages are now able to enter their short stories, narrative non-fiction, memoirs or poetry in the 2023 Fisher’s Ghost Writing Prize.

Entries must address the theme of this year’s competition, One Step into Tomorrow.

The Prize is open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Campbelltown from grade four and above.

“This is a great opportunity for creative people to challenge themselves and showcase their talents in a local competition,” said Mayor George Greiss.

“We’ve seen incredible entries in our previous writing prize competitions, so I’m eager to see how participants approach this year’s theme”, Dr Greiss said.

Categories include:

  • Adult
  • School students grade 4-6
  • School students grade 7-9
  • School students grade 10-12

This year’s adult category will award $300 to the winner and $100 to highly commended entries. The student category will award $100 to winners.

Campbelltown Library will also host a series of writing workshops to help entrants develop their writing before submission.

Entries close Monday 4 September. Winners will be announced during the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.
