Fisher's Ghost Writing Prize

We're excited to announce this years winners and highly commended for the Fisher's Ghost Writing Prize.

Campbelltown City Library has partnered with WestWords to create this prize (now in its third year), which was open to anyone who lives, works or attends school, TAFE or university in the Campbelltown Local Government area from grade four and above.

Writers were invited to submit works addressing this year’s theme, One Step into Tomorrow.

Prizes

Adult: Winner $300, Highly Commended $100.

School Students: In each category (Years 10-12, Years 7-9, Years 4-6) Winner $100, Highly Commended $50.

Judging the winning entries

  • All work must be original and within 500 words, or 25 lines for poetry (excluding the title)
  • Submissions in each age category will be judged on originality, creativity, language construction and engagement with the theme
  • A series of writing workshops will be hosted to support the writers in the development of their pieces. Information about these will soon be available on the website
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to decisions reached
  • Winners have been announced at a special ceremony.
