Mayor George Greiss has welcomed today’s announcement that $145 million will be invested in projects across Campbelltown as part of the NSW Government’s WestInvest Program, including a major redevelopment of Campbelltown Arts Centre.
Alongside these city-shaping projects, a range of improvements to recreational and sporting infrastructure across Campbelltown were announced.
Successful projects include:
- Campbelltown Arts Centre Expansion
- Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre Upgrades
- Dharawal Nature Playspace
- Campbelltown Health and Education Precinct Connectivity, Wayfinding and Identity Project
- Multipurpose Community Facilities Hub
- Minto Multicultural Community Centre Enhancement
- Railway Parade Bridge Upgrade, Glenfield
- Ingleburn Town Centre Transformation Project
“These funding commitments will bring important city-shaping projects, such as the Campbelltown Arts Centre expansion, to life that will benefit the long term social and economic development of our city,” Mayor George Greiss said.
“It’s also exciting to see a number of projects which will enhance our community infrastructure in the sporting and recreation space,” Cr Greiss said.
“WestInvest represents some of the most significant funding we’ve seen in community infrastructure in the recent past, so I’d like to thank the NSW Government for their investment in our community,” he said.
“I look forward to sharing more details about these projects shortly and working with the community and our key partners to make them a reality.
“Thank you to all the community organisations who put forward projects for funding and congratulations to the successful applicants, it was a highly competitive process and there were a significant number of applications from the area.”
Today’s funding announcement builds on a $26.6 million announcement last year to fund 11 Council-led projects through WestInvest.
