Every November, libraries throughout the world celebrate International Games Month. This special month is an initiative to connect communities through their libraries exploring the educational, recreational, and social value of all types of games.

This year, we'll be celebrating International Games Month from 1 November to 30 November with a range of activities and events including:

Junior Board Games + Biscuits

Enjoy a biscuit or two while you play some classic board games with your family and friends. This is a free event, no bookings required. Simply drop in and join in the fun.

When: Thursday 2 November, 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Where: Glenquarie Library 

Ages: 5 years and up

Chess and Cheese

Play chess in a fun and social environment! Light refreshments including a tasty selection of cheeses and delicious literary mocktails will be on offer. This is a free, no bookings required.

Where: Eagle Vale Library

When: Every Monday from Monday 6 November until Monday 27 November, from 10.30am - 12.30pm

Ages: 18 years and up

Pizza and Board Games Night

Enjoy a slice of pizza or two as you play a round of classic board games including chess, Uno, Snakes and Ladders, Twister and much more. Pizza will be served from 5pm. This is a free event, no bookings required.

When: Tuesday 7 November, 4pm - 6pm

Trivia Night at the Library

Trivia fiends, music afficionados and history buffs take note - trivia is returning to the library!

Find friends or family and make-up a team of six or bring yourself and join another team. As well as general knowledge trivia, we'll run several games between rounds.

Please BYO snacks and drinks (no alcohol). Doors will open at 5.30pm. This is a free event but bookings are essential. You can register your interest here.

Anime Trivia Night

Mark your calendars and gather your fellow anime enthusiasts! Whether you're a die-hard otaku or just a curious beginner, Anime Trivia Night at the library promises an evening filled with fun, laughter, and shared passion for all things anime.

Trivia Competition

Showcase your anime expertise and compete against fellow fans in a thrilling trivia showdown. From classic series to the latest releases, test your knowledge on a wide range of anime genres, characters, and storylines.

Cosplay Extravaganza

Embrace your favourite anime character and let your creativity shine! This event is the perfect opportunity to don your cosplay. Show off your craftsmanship, strike a pose, and connect with fellow cosplayers.

Prizes and Giveaways

Put your trivia skills to the test and win fantastic prizes! From merch to gift vouchers, there's plenty to be won. Every participant has a chance to walk away with something special!

Cubing Club

How fast can you solve a Rubik's Cube? Drop in and practice your skills and learn tips and tricks from other cubers. Have a cube you want to solve? Bring it along and see if others can help you solve it. Bring your own cubes or use one of ours. All skill levels welcome. This is a free event, no bookings required.

Social Scrabble

If you would like to meet other people, enjoy a game of Scrabble and other word games then come down to the library for all these things and more. Refreshments provided. This is a free event, no bookings required.

Chess Club: After School

Come and play chess in a fun and relaxed setting for all levels of experience and abilities. We have standard chess boards and chess sets, tactile chess boards for blind and vision impaired players and chess text books. This is a free event, no bookings required.

Block Squad
