Meet Cady,

Cady is a gentle soul with a playful streak. She’s a little softer in nature compared to her sisters, but once she feels comfortable, her fun-loving personality shines through. She adores people, enjoys being carried and cuddled, and is always up for some silly playtime when she feels safe. Cady had a tough start to life, so she’s still learning that the world is a safe and exciting place. With her love of food, she’ll be easy to train, and she’s already eager to please. Cady will blossom in a home where she has guidance, patience, and someone to help build her confidence as she grows.

Cady is still young and had a rough start to life. When she and her litter mates arrived at our facility, they were all heartbreakingly underweight - most likely due to not receiving proper nutrition in their previous home. Since then, we've been giving Cady the care, food, and love needed to help her grow big and strong. Under our vet's guidance, she has been steadily gaining weight, but it's a gradual journey that will need to continue in her new home. The wonderful news is that Cady has been given a clean bill of health - and with ongoing, nutritious meals and a caring adopter, she will keep thriving. Cady may have had a difficult beginning, but she has so much love to share with the right family.

Dog-friendly? At this moment it is undetermined if Cady is dog social - she is under socialised and has only been around her siblings. She will need further socialisation training which we have started.
Cat-friendly? Unknown - we can't really test in this environment, so it’s up to her new family to introduce her carefully.
Kid-friendly? Absolutely! She’s open to meeting children from 5 years and up.

Considerations:

Cady would love a yard, with high secure fencing, so that she can play in it safely. She dreams of a home with toys - lots of toys! As well as daily exercise/walks to keep her body physically fit & her mind mentally fit. Treat/food puzzles are a great tool and great way to keep active puppy minds engaged!

Cady is starting to explore her surrounds & is growing in confidence each & every day. However, it would be a wise move to invest in a crate & start crate training. This type of training is not only a highly valuable skill to have but is a great skill for any dog to learn and know.

Cady should be enrolled into puppy training classes as soon as she is adopted. These classes & training will set her up for life and will allow her to learn social skills & etiquette, as well as define her manners. These classes & training will also teach her how to appropriately interact with other dogs as well as other animals & people. These training classes will also assist her new owner, as they can both learn new skills together.

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
