Meet Turbo,

Seeing a cat with a name like Turbo that might make you think he’s full of speed and energy, but in reality, he’s all about life in the slow lane. Found tucked away in a car engine bay, Turbo has a story as unique as his personality. Despite his adventurous start, he is a gentle soul who prefers calm moments, soft pats, and taking each day as it comes.

Turbo is wonderfully adaptable and would fit right into any household, making him a great choice even for first-time cat owners. He’s quietly outgoing, friendly, and has just the right balance of independence and affection. With his curious nature and smart little mind, he’ll happily engage with you in his own sweet way. Turbo is the kind of cat who will make your home feel just a little softer, calmer, and brighter.

Turbo is open to meet kids of any age. Although he doesn't really like being picked up and carried, he'll allow it to happen, but also prefers being able to be on the ground and explore at his own pace. Turbo loves to be patted and will rub into your hand, his way of asking for more - he'll make biscuits to show you how happy he is and purr as he makes them. He also really likes having his ears scratched, too.

Turbo is not suitable to live with dogs - as we fear they may scare him. He is also not a fan of other cats - so he is best to be the only cat in the home.

We always encourage cats to be indoors. If Turbo is outside, it will increase his chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As a quiet cat the outside world will be very scary for him. As an inside cat he can live his best life possible and feel safe as well.

Turbo has low-range energy levels and is not interested in playing with toys right now. While Turbo is usually quiet, he may greet you with a gentle chirp of a morning - his way of saying "hello".

Turbo is not fussy with his food and he adores treats - but he's not overzealous when taking them - he's gentle and hides his excitement well.

Staff Comments: Turbo is a very sweet guy who would probably put up with most things (rough handling etc). He's easy going and very chill and he loves to be patted. As a medium hair cat regularly brushing would be beneficial for the health of his coat.

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
