About Campbelltown Billabong Parklands

Conveniently located near the Campbelltown CBD, Billabong Parklands is the perfect outdoor destination for families and fun. This state-of-the-art water recreation space also includes BBQ facilities, scenic picnic areas and shaded huts that can be booked for your family and friends.

Key features

The landscape features of the design are based on the local Dharawal National Park and Georges River to reflect the importance of our local environment and Aboriginal culture.

  • Interactive splash play area - open all year
    Featuring hand sculpted rocks, rockpools, water fountains and water play equipment.
  • Children’s pool - open September to April
    Shallow beach entry with water fountain features. A fully accessible pool with ramp access going down to 1m deep.
  • Billabong pool - open September to April
    The final riverine experience is the Billabong pool which is complimented by a cascading waterfall from the bridge. This is a 1m-1.8m deep pool with accessible ramp access.
  • Picnic huts, BBQs and shade - open all year
    Shaded hut and picnic shelters with tables and seating plus two dedicated undercover BBQ areas. The Billabong Parklands also features shade umbrellas, shade sails and established trees. 
  • Public art 
    Public artists Milne and Stonehouse were engaged to work with us and the local Aboriginal community to develop a vision for Campbelltown Billabong Parklands. The Bridge was developed in consultation with key Aboriginal stakeholders and the Yirran Miigaydhu Weavers Group. The Entry Sign was developed in consultation with key Aboriginal stakeholders and artist Danielle Mate.

Project delivery and funding

The project is funded by Council, the Australian Government and NSW Government under the Western Sydney Liveability Program ($31 million) and additional funding for gateway areas around the site provided by the NSW Government Public Spaces Legacy Fund ($3.6 million).
