Discover Campbelltown with Councils’ environmental programs calendar

Campbelltown may be a thriving city – but it also home to pristine bushland, unspoilt waterways and prolific wildlife.

Thanks to Campbelltown City Council’s July to December calendar of environmental programs, it’s easy to discover all the natural beauties of our city.

The calendar is divided into four sections – events, workshops, activities, and environmentally significant dates – and also features some great ideas on how locals can connect with the environment during the next six months.

The calendar details lots of opportunities to get outdoors and connect with nature, including bird-watching, bushwalking and bushcare groups.

Environmental events include National Tree Day at Cleopatra Reserve, Ambarvale on Sunday 29 July.

There will also be competitions that celebrate nature, including the Threatened Species Art and Writing Competition for primary school-aged students, as well as the Macarthur Nature Photography Competition, which showcases our region’s native flora, wildlife and scenery.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the calendar made it easy for residents and visitors to enjoy all the opportunities that the area’s natural environment had to offer.

“The Georges and Nepean Rivers create outstanding natural boundaries for our city,” he said.

“Within those boundaries, we are lucky to live in a city which has so much to offer outdoors, and I’d encourage residents to download or grab a copy of the calendar, and find out for themselves about the activities, workshops, and national and international initiatives they can get involved in,” he said.
