B-cycle your batteries
Did you know lithium batteries are the number one cause of garbage truck fires?
No matter what type - lithium, alkaline, rechargeable or button - batteries cannot go into your household bins. When sent to landfill, they can spark fires and release toxic materials.
To keep Campbelltown safe and sustainable, it’s important to dispose of batteries the right way - and it’s easier than you think.
How to safely b-cycle your batteries
Campbelltown residents can follow 3 simple steps:
1. Tape the terminals of your batteries to prevent the risk of fire
2. Store them in a glass jar and keep out of reach of children
3. Take them to your nearest FREE B-cycle drop-off point
95% of the materials in each battery is recovered and made into new products.
