Wat Pa Buddharangsee Temple 1985

With the arrival of the refugees from Indo-China in the early 1980s, the Buddhist community increased in numbers from backgrounds such as Laotian, Cambodian and Vietnamese. It became obvious that a larger monastery was needed in the western suburbs to satisfy the needs of the Buddhist community.

In 1985, Mahamakut purchased five acres of land on Junction Road, Leumeah. With further donations from Thailand and Australia, a new monastery was constructed.

The official opening was held on the 29 May 1988. This magnificent construction provides the Buddhist community with a place of worship and a spiritual refuge.
