Meet Chancey,

Looking for a feline with a little sparkle? Chancey might just be your perfect match! This gorgeous girl is gentle, independent, and full of charm. Whether you're a first-time cat owner or a seasoned cat enthusiast, Chancey makes everything feel easy with her adaptable and easy-going nature. Friendly, happy, and outgoing, Chancey fits beautifully into just about any home, too.

Chancey has that special kind of cat magic - she's social in her own delightful, flirty way. One moment she’s strutting past you with confidence, and the next she’s curled up nearby, purring softly and giving you that look that says, “Aren’t you lucky to know me?”. Chancey sometimes seems to forget she’s actually a cat—she carries herself more like a mysterious, otherworldly being. But catch her when she thinks no one’s watching, and that magical façade slips just enough to reveal the sweet, playful kitty underneath. And what a lovely cat she is, too!

Curious and playful, she loves exploring her surroundings and finding the cosiest spots to perch. She's always up for a little fun but also knows how to enjoy her alone time like a true queen.

Chancey is open to meet kids of all ages. She'll tolerate being carried and cuddled but would prefer to sit next to you or on you for cuddles. She loves being patted everywhere - in fact she demands some good old fashioned pats all the time as it makes her extremely happy - and who doesn't love a happy cat?!

As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Chancey would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.

As for cats, Chancey seems interested in making friends. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends.

We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Chancey enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible.

Chancey has mid-range energy levels and is not shy when it comes to playing - she likes to play with ping pong balls but tends to lose interest when they stop moving, or when she notices that you are there watching her - she acts like you have stumbled upon her biggest secret - she's also fond of feather wand toys but again - if you catch her playing, she'll stop and it's no surprise that a beautiful girl like Chancey loves any and all  attention that you give her, too.

Chancey is not fussy with her food and she won't say no to a treat or two either.

Staff Comments: Chancey is a very sweet and confident girl. She will thrive in any home environment and will be the perfect companion for any one or any family.

Love bites: What are they? Love bites are a method of communication. They typically start with a lick and slowly progress to gentle nibbles and nips. Love bites are typically gentle. They often don’t hurt, pierce the skin, draw blood, or require medical attention. Equally, the cat’s body language is usually relaxed and there aren’t any signs of aggression, although some cats may become slightly overstimulated prior.

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
