Campbelltown Challenge Walk - Event Rules and Conditions

  1. Campbelltown Challenge Walk is a competitive walking competition where no running is allowed.

    i. Contact with the road surface is to be maintained at all times.
    ii. Course Marshals will be positioned along the walking track looking out for anyone running or cheating.
    iii. Anyone found running and cheating will be instantly disqualified from completing the race, and no finishing certificate will be issued.
    iv. Contestants must follow any instruction from the Course Marshals.

  2. A separate online entry is required for each entrant.
  3. Entrants with strollers must start from the designated Stroller Start Area which is well behind the start line, to ensure a safe, injury-free start for all.
  4. Entry fees are not refundable - unless the event is cancelled by Campbelltown City Council.
  5. Late entries will be accepted on event day - Eftpos only, NO cash.
  6. 11km entrants who only complete 6km will be classified as “Did Not Finish”.
  7. All Line Honours placegetters will be ineligible for age category awards.
  8. Dead Heat” rule — the winner of a dead heat will be the entrant with the lower race number (ie. the entrant whose entry form was processed first)
  9. Pets are not allowed in The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan.
  10. Chest bib numbers will be utilised for this event.
  11. If an entrant fails to bring a chest bib number, a replacement will be issued with an additional $24 fee.
  12. All decisions by the Race Director are final.
  13. Stay on the defined course as any departure may lead to disqualification.
  14. Please remember to keep to your right whilst walking to allow other walkers to overtake.
  15. All entrants who complete their event will be eligible for an online finisher’s certificate.
  16. Prevent littering by using the waste bins provided.
  17. All participants, volunteers and staff must abide by the COVID-19 rules for people in NSW.
  18. Sanitiser stations will be available throughout the venue for your safety.

Team Competition rules

  1. At least three people per team.
  2. No team entries will be accepted on event day.
  3. When registering your team, A and B team categories are for students only. School staff members and parents/guardians are Category D.
  4. Only school students from the same school are eligible to be a member of a school team.
  5. Each participant can only be a member of one team.
  6. "Top Team” awards will recognise those teams whose top three members record the lowest aggregate time for their team category.
  7. In top team categories, first, second and third placed teams will receive a trophy.
  8. “Largest Team” awards will recognise the teams with the most entrants.
  9. It is the team coordinator's responsibility to check all team members registrations are in the correct team category prior to competition.
  10. No team changes are permitted on race day.
