Local women are encouraged to get involved in a variety of free community events and activities as part of this year’s NSW Women’s Week celebrations.

International Women’s Day is on March 8 and this year’s theme is Count Her In: Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress, which focuses on collectively investing in women financially and leveraging opportunities.

Several community events designed around the theme will be held from Monday 4 March to Sunday 10 March, including:

• International Women’s Day Morning Tea and Craft (Tuesday 5 March)
• Self-Protection & Street Smarts Workshop (Tuesday 5 March)
• Dungeons and Dragons – Exclusive Access (Wednesday 6 March)
• Matcha Workshop (Sunday 10 March)
• Author Talk: Brenda Matthews (Friday 15 March)

“NSW Women’s Week and International Women’s Day is a chance to recognise the contributions and achievements of women in our community,” Mayor George Greiss said.

“These events will bring local women together to share experiences, learn together and celebrate,” Cr Greiss said.
